Psycho Loco is the result of a unique collaboration between two award winning artists, American writer, story teller and performer Verna Gillis and British singer, musician and record producer Jennifer Maidman.

Verna and Jennifer originally met via their partners, both world renowned trombone players, Roswell Rudd and Annie Whitehead. In 2019 Verna came to one of Jennifer's shows in Woodstock NY and suggested that Jennifer try setting some of her words to music.

Jennifer initially worked on the music at her studio in Margate in the UK. Annie added her trademark rip-snorting trombone and Jerry Marotta played super-funky drums and percussion at his studio in Woodstock. Jennifer added more vocals, bass and guitars, and then John Medeski came into Dreamland studios to add his blistering organ track.

Jennifer and Ariel Shafir mixed the track on the classic vintage API console at Dreamland, and it was mastered by industry legend Geoff Pesche at Abbey Road back in the UK.

So get your dancing shoes on and DO THE PSYCHO LOCO!
